Soldiers of the 115th Combat Support Hospital at Fort Polk are training in the field in preparation to deploy in the support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
BATON ROUGE - Rep. James Armes, D-Leesville, has voluntarily deferred a measure that would require Deer Creek Doctor's Hospital to open an emergency room. The measure was heard Thursday in the House Health and Welfare Committee.
A committee at Anacoco High School has determined to by a new LED sign for the school to provide a link of communication between the school and the community, said Cindy Teasley, an Anacoco High civics teacher and the chairman of the committee said.
Baton Rouge - Local Community Coffee Company representative Terry Smith delivered $598 to Anacoco Elementary School and $208.95 to Hicks High School for participating in the Community Cash for Schools program.
