Under the Home Rule charter, the City of Leesville is comprised of the Mayor and six (6) City Council Members; one (1) is elected from each of the city's four (4) districts. Two (2) are elected at-large by the voters of the City. The Mayor is elected at-large by the voters of the city. With a current Leesville population of approximately 6,800 each Council Member represents more than 1,700 residents, while the Mayor and Council-at-Large represent each and every resident.
